About Common Grace

SAFER is part of Common Grace’s work in Domestic and Family Violence Justice.

Common Grace is a diverse movement of Australian Christians seeking to follow Jesus by pursuing justice with compassion, humility, and courage.

Common Grace envisions a world where all people, being made in the image of God, are safe, respected, and can flourish in every relationship. 

Yet domestic and family violence is a profound injustice that denies people—especially women and girls—their freedom and dignity. 

Australia’s unacceptably high rates of domestic and family violence are prevalent across every part of society - including churches. We believe churches should be places of nurture, healing, and restoration. 

Guided by the love of Jesus, we work to call and equip Christians and faith communities to:

• Recognise and prevent violence,
• Support victim-survivors,
• Call people who use violence to take responsibility for their actions, and
• Cultivate communities grounded in dignity, equality, and love.
